Remnant 2 now supports DLSS 3, but you probably should not turn it on
Five days after the official launch (although the Ultimate Edition gave early access a few days earlier), Remnant 2 is gaining strength in Steam, where, according to Steamdb, a new peak of simultaneous players in 109,053 users was reached yesterday.
Although user reviews about the Steam game are quite positive (80%rating), they also mention some performance problems. The developers have already added DLSS 3 to Remnant 2, although they did not mention this anywhere in the notes to the patch or on any other official channel. Now you can find it directly under the quality setting of Apskayler. Of course, it will be available only to owners of the GEFORCE RTX 40 video cards.
Unfortunately, the implementation of DLSS 3 in this game leaves much to be desired, which can explain the absence of fanfar from Gunfire Games and/or Nvidia. This is not because of an increase in performance, which is definitely noticeable, as you can see from user tests obtained using Capframex.
Bypassing the center of the game (Ward 13), DLSS 3 improves the average frame rate by more than 55%, 1% FPS percentile by 39.6% and 0.2% FPS percentile by 55% again. In the first world, N’emad, during the usual gameplay, the average frame rate increased by 42.3%, FPS 1% percental by 39.1%, and FPS 0.2% percentile by 41.2%.
This is far from the largest jump in the performance observed using DLSS 3 in the game. However, they are still significant and are very welcome to Remnant 2. Question as implementation.
Although the frequency of personnel is higher, the actual feeling of smoothness is worse when using Dlss Frame Generation. Sometimes you can even clearly see when the animation looks more intermittent than without DLSS FG. Moreover, the stability of the image is low, which leads to a strange trembling.
Responsibility is of paramount importance in such a game Souls, and subjectively it is much better with the disconnected frames generation. As for the causes, this may be due to the incorrect implementation of Reflex, which is the key component of the DLSS 3 package. Remnant 2 also does not have a separate option for Reflex, unlike most games with DLSS 3.
